Most people reach for solar after the same run of events: light that comes and goes, and a gen that eats petrol to cover the gaps. As an illustration only, a 3.0 kVA generator running about 5 hours a day at about 1.25 litres an hour (Nigerian retailer Jamara Home says the Sumec Firman ECO4990ES runs up to 12 hours at 50% load on a 15 L tank, and 15 / 12 = 1.25) with petrol at N1,400 a litre (a Lagos pump price reported by Vanguard on 10-11 October 2026) costs 1.25 x 5 x 1,400 = N8,750 a day. That is an example, not a prediction for your house. Start with home solar installation if you want a whole system, or inverter and battery installation if you already have panels or an old inverter.
This site is advertising for independent Nigerian solar installers. It does not install or sell anything itself, and it holds no licence or certification of its own. What it does is help you ask for two or three comparable written quotes and give you the checks to run on each one. If you are weighing a business system, read commercial solar and the dated price ranges on solar system price in Nigeria first, and see solar and inverter repair if your current system keeps tripping.
Hybrid inverter, battery and panels sized from the rating plates of your own appliances. For a duplex or flat in Lagos or Abuja that wants to stop feeding the gen.
Learn More →For an old inverter whose tubular batteries no longer last the night. Ask for lithium and tubular options quoted side by side, with the exact battery model on paper.
Learn More →For a shop, school, clinic, church or small office trying to cut diesel. The installer starts with a load assessment and agrees the changeover arrangement in writing.
Learn More →For a system that keeps tripping or a battery bank that has gone weak. An installer should check wiring, protection and settings before blaming the equipment.
Learn More →Quotes that name the exact models
Every enquiry is pushed toward a written quote listing the inverter, battery and panel models, the warranty terms and the VAT treatment, so two or three quotes can be compared line by line.
Prices shown with the seller and the month
When this site quotes a number it names who published it and when, for example Mercury Direct listing a 3.5 kVA lithium package at N3,400,000 in October 2026. It is never presented as this site's quote.
Installer checks you can run yourself
NEMSA keeps a public directory of certified electrical contractors at nemsa.gov.ng/directory/. Ask for the competency certificate and look the installer up before you pay a deposit.
No savings promises
Payback is never guaranteed here. Where a comparison is useful, such as petrol spend against a system price, the working is shown and labelled as an illustration.

You call now or send your location, your appliances and what you want them to run through (AC, freezer, pumping machine). An independent installer discusses it with you and notes what the rating plates say.
The installer visits to check the roof, the DB, the earthing and where the batteries will sit. The scope, system size and any changeover work are agreed from that visit.
You get a written proposal naming each model, the warranty terms, the VAT treatment and the schedule. Compare it with two other quotes before you commit, and keep every receipt.
Enquiries are taken for Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Benin City and Enugu. Modelled panel output differs by city: PVGIS puts Abuja at about 1,534 kWh a year per kWp of panels and Port Harcourt at about 1,271, so the same panels do not produce the same energy everywhere. Each city page covers the local DisCo, the rainy-season dip and what to ask an installer there.
It depends on the load you want to run, so an installer scopes it from the rating plates of your own appliances before quoting. For reference, Mercury Direct listed a 3.5 kVA hybrid inverter with 5 kWh of lithium and 8 x 450 W panels, installation included, at N3,400,000 in October 2026, and SMK Solar listed a 3.5 kVA, 5 kWh lithium and 6 x 450 W package at N3,121,000 (its page mentions installation accessories, so check whether labour is included). BusinessDay put 3-4 kVA systems at N2-3 million in February 2026. Naira prices move with the exchange rate, so a current written quote is the real number.
This site does not publish a guaranteed response or installation time, because the schedule belongs to the installer who quotes your job. Ask for the survey date and the installation schedule to be written on the proposal. A vague timeline on paper is a reason to compare with another quote.
It depends on the total load and on what runs at the same time. LG lists a 9,000 BTU inverter split AC at 1,000 W rated cooling input and a 12,000 BTU unit at 1,090 W (1,350 W maximum). A 5 kVA inverter at a 0.8 power factor carries about 4 kW of real load, so always read the kW figure on the inverter's own datasheet. Fridges, freezers and pumping machines vary, so an installer should do a load audit from your rating plates.
On the makers' own figures, the lithium model below is rated for four times the cycles of the tubular one, but compare the exact models. The Felicity LPBF48100-A manual states 6000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge, while a Luminous LPT 1240H tubular page states up to 1500 cycles at 80%, each on its maker's own test conditions. BusinessDay (February 2026) says lead-acid batteries last only three to five years. Ask for both options quoted side by side with the exact battery model written down.
NEMSA guidelines as reported in April 2026 say rooftop solar PV must be installed by NEMSA-certified electrical contractors, and NEMSA publishes a directory and a verification page on nemsa.gov.ng. Ask for the competency certificate and look it up. Industry experts quoted by NAN in July 2026 named batteries and inverters as the most counterfeited items, so check serial numbers and warranty papers and have the exact models, warranty terms and VAT treatment written on the quote.
Not with a typical home system. NERC's Net Billing Regulations 2026 start eligibility at a renewable system of 50 kWp, with DisCo approval and a bidirectional meter, and a home system is far below that. Size your system for your own use.
After you call or send an enquiry, an independent installer arranges a site survey to check the roof, the DB and where the batteries will sit. The scope then goes into a written proposal naming each model, which you can compare with other quotes before you decide.
